SUGAR GLIDER TREATS

The following is a comparison and review

of the top three Sugar Glider Treats

available on the market as of

* 5 Important factors to consider
when selecting the best

Sugar Glider Treats *

1.

Veterinary Endorsements:

Quality treats should be thoroughly tested - and endorsed - by several Veterinarians who specialize in Sugar Glider care and research.  Multiple endorsements are preferable.

2.

Manufactured for Sugar Gliders ONLY: Despite what any website may claim, Sugar Gliders have very specific nutritional requirements, and all "treat" foods should be scientifically-balanced just for Gliders.  Products designed for use with other animals - including cats, dogs, birds and reptiles are not recommended for Sugar Gliders. Treats should never exceed 10% of a healthy Sugar Glider's dietary consumption.

3.

Certified ORGANIC: The SINGLE most important factor to consider when feeding a Sugar Glider any treats is whether the product is "certified organic".  Today, most fruits and vegetables contain numerous toxins and pesticides which are practically impossible to completely remove.  Due to their small size, Sugar Gliders are extremely susceptible to toxicity poisoning, so only treats which are certified organic - or made for consumption by human babies - are recommended.

4.

No Artificial Ingredients:

Because of a Sugar Glider's small size, even tiny amounts of artificial ingredients and preservatives (that are fine for larger pets) can be fatal to Sugar Gliders.  Therefore, it's important that all foods, vitamins, and treats be as free as possible from these harmful agents.

5.

 Glider-Safe™ Certification:

Many products currently being marketed for Sugar Gliders are actually products designed for other pets which have been "re-labeled" for Sugar Gliders without objective testing. Products which have received Glider-Safe™ certification have undergone extensive testing by animal care professionals (including Veterinarians) - and have been specifically approved for use by Sugar Gliders.

Review:

Contains only papaya and mango. Products are not organic and are actually made for other pets by Brisky Pet Products. Same items can be found for less cost on many general pet websites Contains primarily yogurt drops with only 3 other ingredients: (raisins, papaya, and banana). Products are not organic. Site states mixed for Gliders, but product is no different than many standard "trail mixes" found in grocery stores. Only certified-organic treats for Sugar Gliders on the market.  Multiple Veterinary Endorsements. Product contains organic yogurt and a mix of 14 additional organic dehydrated fruits.
